Job upgrades are improvements to the existing jobs of units. There are two types of job upgrades, Job+ and Enchanted Job (JE). These upgrades replace the job with a new improved version of the job and generally improve the job mastery bonuses and equipment stats as well.
Job+[ | ]
Some units have a job+ upgrade available for one of their jobs- this provides a better version of an existing job (in some cases a higher level job than the one it upgrades from, i.e. mage may upgrade to sage+) which usually has better stats and one or more upgraded abilities. Each job+ is unique to a unit, the same job will have different upgraded abilities for different units who have a job+ upgrade for it. The job+ will fully replace a job on the unit- you will need to retrain all skills on the unit that you wish to use after upgrading, as well as raise the job levels again. All job+ upgrades require special tokens and equipment- for most of these upgrades the items can only be obtained during a special limited time event. You can farm the materials during the event even if you don't have the unit or don't meet the requirements for the upgrade, and then save them to be applied later when you do. You should never do the job+ upgrade until you are sure you have acquired all the necessary materials to fully master the job, because those materials will not be available again until the event is rerun (which may take many months).
Requirements[ | ]
- Limit Break 15
- Job Level 11 on the job to be replaced (job master is not required and the job mastery bonus will be lost upon upgrading to the new job)
- 6 job tokens for the upgraded job
- Specialized job equipment for all 6 slots of job level 11 for the new job (usually these require 80 fragments apiece, but some job+ slots only require 60- it's good to check the requirements and make sure you have them all before applying the new job or the job+ event expires). Note: Omnicrystal equipment can't be used to replace job+ equipment.
Job++ and JE+ Upgrades[ | ]
Some units have a 2nd level job upgrade available after applying the first upgrade. There are two types of these: Job++ (also known as J++) and JE+ (job enhancement+). In both cases these are unit specific job upgrades that are tied to events which may be time sensitive, just like a standard job+. The big difference is that these are applied after you have already done a first job upgrade. For job++ the previous job upgrade is a job+ and for JE+ the previous job upgrade is an enchanted job (JE).
The other big difference between these and a first level job upgrade, is that second level job upgrades do not require that you redo all job levels after upgrading, only job level 11. Similar to a standard job+ upgrade, it does require the 6 job tokens for the upgraded job and specialized job equipment for all 6 slots of job level 11 for the new job (80 fragments per piece).

Enchanted Jobs[ | ]
Enchanted jobs (often referred to as JE or job enhancement) are similar to job+ upgrades, but are not unit specific and are not generally tied to time limited events. Multiple units may have access to the same version of an enchanted job, but each unit will have access to only one version. Each job which can be enchanted has several variations available which provide different special benefits. Like job+ upgrades, they will provide improved stats and abilities and fully replace the job when applied.
