Equipment are a vital part of any unit's growth. In fact, they tend to account for about half of a unit's attributes, as well as covering various resistances.
Every job defines what equipment it uses, consisting of 6 pieces per job level. In order for a job to level up, it must equip all 6 pieces, at which point the equipment is absorbed and a new job level is available.
Equipment can also be enhanced, raising their stats to at most 50% of their original values, at max rank. It is important to note that when a job levels up, all enhancements are lost.
Foraged Equipment
The most common equipment that can be found: This includes equipment that can be obtained from enemies and chests and form the basis for all jobs.

All other forged items include equipment pieces, diagrams and diagram pieces. These four items type are used to construct the remaining equipment on this page.
Assembled Equipment
Equipment that have an obvious method of creation. The simplest of crafted items, these are made by combining together pieces of the same item.
3 Star - 5 Pieces |

Made from 5 of the item's pieces and 1500 Zeni. |
4 Star - 20 Pieces |
Made from 20 of the item's pieces and 6000 Zeni. |
5 Star - 60 Pieces |
Made from 60 of the item's pieces and 18,000 Zeni. |
Invented Equipment
Hey, what happens when I put these two things together? Invented equipment are made combining 2 or more other equipment, all with your own ingenuity.
1 Star - Crude Crafts (2 Raw) |
---|
Who knew that a whistle was made from a feather and a hat? Two of the simplest 1* foraged equipment can be combined to make these, costing 300 Zeni to create. |
2 Star - Armor (3 Raw) |
Typically covering the defenses for job levels 3 and 4, these two equipment are made by combining a pair of 2* foraged equipment with a | , costing 1200 Zeni to create.
2 Star - Support (4 Raw) |
Not used as often as other equipment from this rarity, 2* support items are made from 1* crafted equipment. Each one requires 4 raw materials to create, as well 1200 Zeni. |
3 Star - ??? (8 Raw) 5000 Zeni |
3 Star - ??? (10 Raw) 5000 Zeni |
4 Star - Resistance (21 Raw) 18000 Zeni |
4 Star - ??? (33 Raw) 18000 Zeni |
5 Star - Master Equipment |
The epitome of assembly; these are usually only used in the final level of a job. Each item is carefully crafted from the corresponding 5* constructed item as a base. Combining it with 3 other equipment and 30,000 Zeni will yield the desired item. |
Formulated Equipment
Items that are so tough to make, they require detailed instructions on their process. Every formulated item is made from its diagram as a base, using other equipment as materials.
Depending on the item, some diagrams can be found whole, like a foraged item. Others are so complicated that they have many pages (pieces) that are needed to combine together before they can be used.
1 Star (2 Raw) |
---|
These simple 1 page diagrams need only a single forged 1* item, costing 300 Zeni to create. |
2 Star (4 Raw) |
Still simple in their design, these single page diagrams detail how to upgrade a 1* formulated item by combining it with a 1* foraged item, needing 1200 Zeni for the process. |
3 Star - Invention Upgrades (7 Raw) |
The only 3* diagrams consisting of a single page, these detail how combine a pair of invented 2* armor to give them some resistances, costing 5000 Zeni. However, the author leaves the inventor to their own devices on how they should create the ingredients. |
3 Star - Complex Creations (12 - 17 Raw) |
Each of these diagrams is made up of 5 pages. The process of each item varies but describes how to make use of make simpler to produce their result. Each item requires 5000 Zeni to make. |
4 Star - Artisan Goods (35 - 58 Raw) |
The most complicated of formulated equipment, these diagrams are 20 pages long and need 18,000 Zeni to complete. Each process uses an assembled or invented item as a base, combining it with a myriad of other items to produce the final creation. |
Job Exclusive Equipment
Every job has a formulated item that is exclusive to it. Generally, these are needed for the last three levels of that job, though some unit variations may differ.
All of the job exclusive equipment use a diagram, split into two tiers: Tier 1 diagrams are 60 pages long while tier 2 are 80 pages long.
As a base, each diagram uses a 5* assembled item, focusing on the core stat for the result. Two more items are required for the recipe, as well as 30,000 Zeni.
